Introduction to Betfred
Betfred have been around for along time. Starting in the 1960’s as a high-street bookmakers they are one of the big names in online betting.
They offer dedicated Sports Betting, Casino, Vegas, Live Casino and Poker sites. Something for everyone who likes a wager online.
In this review I will be looking at their Sports Betting site.
This review of Betfred will cover:
Selection of Games – Betfred
Betfred’s Sports site has all the main sports in the UK covered. Football, Tennis, Golf, Boxing, American Football and, unlike a lot of the European Sportsbooks, Horse racing and Greyhounds.
Just about everything you could want to bet on is there – including X-Factor and Strictly Come Dancing betting for all you reality TV fans.
There are a good selection of betting options for Football matches although I have seen more options on some of the other sports sites.
Whatever you want to bet on, you will most likely find the options you want at Betfred.
And if you do like a bet on the Horses, why not try this free Horse Racing Tips service.
Payment Methods – Betfred
Betfred accept Debit Card, Credit card, Neteller, Paypal, Skrill, Paysafe and Bank Transfers.
Like most High-Street Bookmakers, they also accept deposits into your online account at their betting shops. So you can deposit cash.
The minimum deposit is either £5 or £5.50 depending on the deposit method. This is really low which is good if you only want to wager a small amount.
Withdrawals take the standard 2 working days, although you can take cash out immediately from the betting shops if you use them to make deposits.
So a good selection of Payment options from Betfred.
Welcome Bonus – Betfred
Betfred’s Welcome Bonus for their Sports Betting site is £30 of free bets once you make a £10 wager.
There are a few terms to consider with this offer. You need to make the £10 wager on a single bet with odds better than 2.0. The bet has to be on an event within 60 days and the bonus will only be paid after the bet is settled.
There is no wagering requirement on the free bets – basically you keep whatever you win from the free bets but the stake is not returned. So if you bet your £30 free bets on a Horse at 3-1 you would win £90 in cash. You wouldn’t get the free bet returned too.
It probably sounds more complicated than it actually is. Basically, the £30 is for betting not withdrawing. But whatever you win you can keep (minus the £30).
I like this way of running a welcome bonus. You definitely have more chance of actually winning money than with most Welcome Bonuses that seem to offer hundreds of pounds.

Ongoing Promotions – Betfred
Betfred’s Sportsbook has a huge array of ongoing promotions. A lot are tied in to specific sports – I will list only a few of them here.
For Football they have what they call “Double Delight” and “hat-Trick Heaven” where they will double or triple your winnings if your first-goal-scorer goes on to get a double or a hat-trick. I love this bonus.
They have a similar thing for American Football, too.
Also they have a Horse Racing promo where you get a free bet bonus if your horse wins by more than 5 lengths.
And, of course, they have the usually cash out and acca insurance options that are popular these days too.
Whatever your sport – there is a bonus for you every day.
Customer Service Options – Betfred
Betfred have a solid range of ways to get in touch with them. Including dedicated UK and worldwide phone numbers and email addresses for lots of different departments.
There is even a good old-fashioned mailing address for oldies like me.
They also have a massive FAQ section and Glossary that may mean you don’t need to contact them at all.
And, of course, you can even go into Betfred’s betting shops and speak to the staff there too. Which I know a lot of people like to do.
Summary & Rating – Betfred
Betfred are a big high-street brand and it shows.
There site is comprehensive, their promotions are great and they cover any kind of online betting you could want.
With the added bonus that you can do your banking with them in person if you can get to one of their shops. Which I think is great for those people who may not be able, or want, to do their payments and withdrawals online.
A definite recommendation from me – get over and give them a try to see what you think.
